A BIT ABOUT ME...

I am 52 and live in North Devon with my family and pets.

I have first hand experience of the huge benefits of therapy and I enjoy exploring how emotions can affect us and how we can manage them. 

​

I grew up in Northumberland and have always loved animals and the outdoors. I like to incorporate  these elements into my work, offering walk and talk therapy as well animal assisted therapy for clients who request it. 

MY BACKGROUND...

I have experience in all of the following sectors

Counselling
 

I currently run a private practice for adults, teenagers and children 11+ all outdoors Walk & Talk

I have also worked in schools and at The Dartmoor Center for Counselling and Psychotherapy in Newton Abbot

Teaching
 

I have over 25 year's experience working in education as a teacher and in family support roles, therefore I have a clear understanding of the high stresses for staff & students in this sector

​

I also run CPD training courses for other counsellors and helping professionals through Devon Counselling Training (see below)

I have been involved in the farming industry for most of my life and have a good understanding of the enormous pressures on this industry and how they can affect those involved.

MY QUALIFICATIONS...

I am an accredited member of The National Counselling Society with:

- Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Counselling,

- Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychology 

-Professional Diploma in Supervision

- Professional Diploma Working with Children and Young People.

​- BSc degree Animal Science 

- Post-Graduate Certificate in Education.​

- I hold a current DBS for working with children in Devon.
